What happened before
Some things I did for work.
Also worked as, in no particular order: copy editor, beverage promoter, ski tram operator, sports store clerk, cafeteria supervisor, and very hip bro-ista.
Today
Resident MD - UBC Family Medicine
Stoked to be training in family medicine at the University of British Columbia. Previously I trained for the better part of two years in psychiatry, but felt my passions and personal style of care was better suited towards primary care (despite my continued interests in mental health and addictions medicine).
2017-2018
Clinical Trial Coordinator / Health Coach
Coordinated a behavioural medicine clinical trials focused on supporting stroke survivors to adopt healthy lifestyle habits as secondary prevention under lead researcher Dr. Brodie Sakakibara. Acted both in an administrative capacity, and as a health coach in the study, setting the foundation for future work in this area.
2017-2018
Impact Measurement Consulting
Had the honor of spending a year working with Steve Patty at Dialogues in Action where we helped Community Schools programs develop evaluations for the important work they do. I learned how incredible BC's educators are.
2005 - 2016
Framer
Summer jobs were always working construction or doing renovations. Between school stints, did it year 'round. Learned about nails and how to hammer 'em.
2002-2003
Ski Shop Kid
When I was 15, sold and rented skis and boots and poles and snowboards to throngs of tourists and made jokes with my 20 year old boss a lot. He had great sideburns.
The letters I have after my name.
